About Currency
The Currency is Birr, the rate of which is fixed against the USD every two weeks following a foreign currency auction. The rate fluctuates within the range of 18 to 18.11Birr for 1USD

Ethiopia follows the Julian calendar, which consists of twelve months of 30 days each and the thirteenth month of five or six days. In addition to this the day time is divided in to two 12-hrs cycles (as in much of the east Africa).

Visas/ Embassies
On entering to Ethiopia, all visitors (except nationals of Djibouti, Eritrea, Sudan and Kenya) need a visa that can be obtained from Ethiopia diplomatic missions abroad. Except in the case of few nationals, Passengers in transit in Ethiopia, holding confirmed onward bookings with in 72 hrs can obtain transit visas. To get a Visa , a valid passport, one recent color passport size photograph, a completed visa application form and service fee are required. Please be aware that, the passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the departure date.

Electric power is 220V running at 50HZ.The Plugs are: Round pins with round grounding pin (offset).

Health
All visitors should have valid vaccination certificate covering yellow fever. It is also recommended to have vaccination of against Hepatitis . When visiting lowlands, Malaria precautions should be taken.

Clothing
This depends on the season and part of the country to be visited. In the warm lowlands light cotton clothing and a Hat are suggested while in the highlands light or medium weight clothing is appropriate. During the rainy season a light rain coat and umbrella are essential and a sweater is best for chilly evenings. The sun can be very strong so a sun screen is important.

TERMES AND CONDITIONS

Bookings: Tour agreement will be valid after confirmation is given byBLT by Fax, e-mail,, Letter or Telephone. At the time of confirmation, a transfer of 25% of the total cost will be requested to be transferred to Bank account of BLT. The remaining balance shall be transferred 30days before the commencement of the Tour.

Cancellation: Cancellation of confirmed bookings before 30days of the commencement of the tour will be subjected to cancellation fee of 50 USD per person. It is impossible to order cancelation 15days before the commencement of the tour, which results in 100% punishment. Thus BLT recommends Tour cancelation 60days before the tour.
