Historic sites by Air and Surface-12 Days/ 11 Nights.

Day 1:  Departure to Addis Abeba

This day you will departure from your country to Addis and arrive in Addis on the next day( Day 2)

Day 2: Arrive Addis Abeba.  Our company, Bishoftu Lakes Tour welcomes you on your arrival at Addis Ababa Bole International airport and transfer to Jupiter International Hotel or Similar In the afternoon you will make a city tour of Addis Abeba that includes:

National Museum: - which comprises of many archaeological and historical findings.

Ethnological Museum: - It is found in the main campus of the Addis Ababa University by the Institute of the Ethiopian studies with the aim to preserve the country’s historical and cultural heritages. It has complete collections that describe almost all the tribal groups in Ethiopia. Here you will have an overview about the history, culture and traditions of the Ethiopian people.

Merkato:-It is the largest open-air market in Africa. Here you will be presented with confusing, but fascinating, glimpse of the vast range of goods and artifacts available from all parts of the country and you will enjoy the Ethiopian trade exchange tradition in the open air, you can purchase anything you desire here.  Overnight Jupiter International Hotel or Similar

Day 3: Flight from Addis Ababa to Bahar Dar.  After breakfast you will check in to Bole International airport and fly to Bahar Dar upon arrival in Bahar Dar, you will check in to Tana Hotel or Simialr Hotel and then P.M you will drive to Blue Nile waterfalls (35kms from Bahir Dar). Tiss Abay is the small town where we take-off the vehicle and walk and make a boat cross over the Blue Nile River. Overnight at the Tana Hotel or Similar Hotel

Day 4: Full day in Bahar Dar. A.M. you will make a boat trip on Lake Tana, Bahar Dar is a modern town on the shore of Lake Tana, the source of the Blue Nile River- the largest lake in Ethiopia( 3600sq meter) is home to thirty-seven Islands, of which twenty shelter churches of significant historical and cultural interest. The islands are easily reached by boat and visit the nearest Monastery of Ura Kidane Meheret that is one of the several in the area containing frescos, elaborate painted ceilings, church crosses, crowns and attires of former Ethiopian kings and emperors.   P.M. you drive to the wonderful view point at the former residence of Emperor Haile Selassie from where you can enjoy a superb view over the Blue Nile, Lake Tana and the town of Bahar Dar. Overnight at the Tana Hotel or Similar Hotel

Day 5: Drive from Bahar Dar – Gondar.  Drive north of Bahirdar to Gondar through the beautiful landscapes of Taragedam Mountain. Transfer to the Goha hotel or similar for check-in and lunch. P.M visit of the castle compound where you can explore the medieval palaces/castles of Emperor Fasiledas, Yohannes, Eyasu, David, Bakaffa and Queen Mentuab. Furthermore visit the church of Debre Berhan Selassie with the famous wall paintings and paintings of more than 80 winged-angels covering the ceiling. Dinner and overnight Goha hotel or similar.

Day 6: Drive from Gondar to Axum. This Day you will drive  to Axum through the beautiful scenery including the view of the Simien Mountains from the lowlands and the Tekeze Valley. Overnight  Yeha  Hotel or similar.

Day 7: Full day in Axum.  Visit the sites of Axum such as the Stele field, the tombs of ancient kings, bath and palace of the Queen of Sheba, the Archeological museum for its Sabean, Greek and Geez inscriptions and the Church of St. Marry Tsion with the special Chapel in which is believed that the original Ark of the Covenant is kept. Dinner and overnight Yeha or  similar Hotel.

Day 8: Drive from Axum- Mekele.  Drive to Mekele and visit the 5th C BC temple of Yeha and the rock hewn churches of Abrha Atsbaha along the route. Overnight Axum  or similar Hotel.

Day 9:  Drive from Mekele  to Lalibela.  After breakfast you will drive to Lalibela, on the way you will admire the area and the Landscape, Late afternoon you will arrive in Lalibela and transfer to Roha Hotel or Similar.  Overnight Roha Hotel or Similar Hotel.

Day 10: Full day in Lalibela.  A.M. visit the first group of rock-hewn churches of Lalibela including Bete Medhanialem, Bete Mariam, Bete Denagel, Bete Meskal and the "double-church" of Debre Sina and Bete Michael in which the "Selassie"-chapel (Trinity-chapel) is integrated. We will also visit the cross shaped church of Bete Giorgis.   P.M visit the second group of churches including “the double-church" of Bete Gebreel and Bete Rufael, the tabot-less Bethlehem, Bete Merquorios,  Bete Emanuel with its Axumite architectures on the exterior and interior walls and Bete Abba Libanos.  Overnight Roha Hotel or Similar Hotel.

Day 11: Fly back to Addis Abeba.  After breakfast transfer to Lalibela Airport and fly to Addis Ababa.  Upon arrival in Addis Abeba you will check in to Jupiter International Hotel or Similar Overnight Jupiter International  Hotel or Similar.

Day 12: Departue
