Bale Mountains National Park

Bale Mountain National ParkThis park is located in the southeast of Ethiopia, some 425km away from Addis Ababa. The park covers an area of 2470km2 and in the altitudinal range of (1500-4400) meters, which provides a unique diversity of; landscape, vegetation and fauna. Thus, Bale Mountains worth visiting due to its richest flora and fauna.



The Bale Mountains rise from the extensive surrounding farm lands at 2500meters above sea level to the West, North and East. The park is famous home and refuge of the endemic Mountain Nyala, Menelik Bush Back and the Ethiopian Wolf.  Wherever you go in Bale there are always birds to watch and some of them are endemic. From 21 species of birds that are known to be in Ethiopia, about 11 species are known to occur in Bale Mountain’s national park.
